Sunshine Night

An obsession with checking the surf can sometimes spill into the night!

A Slice of Home

Since I am going to be moving to France in under two weeks, I thought it was timely to take a few pictures of why I love being home too.

When you have no models, sometimes you have to do all the jobs yourself!

Emma & Sam Tie the Knot!!!

Had a brilliant time last weekend photographing the wedding of my old friend Sam Angus and his beautiful new wife Emma! It was another stunning weekend on the Sunshine Coast, perfect weather for getting married in and I got to enjoy the day running around with Kim documenting these two awesome people committing to each other. I must say I loved every minute of working with these two as they were organised, low stress and we managed to have a lot of laughs! Congrats!!!

Solace in the Madness

This weekend I had a bit of a family gathering to celebrate the christening of my second nephew's (my brother Ben's second son) christening. As fortune would have it mother nature wanted to come and play as well, bring 120 km/h winds, heavy rain and flooding. Even the church wasn't safe, we lost power and a gutter at one point and as you can imagine without lighting a church is a very dark place to take pictures! However I salvaged this one below, hope you enjoy!

The Mystic

I have had this idea floating around in my head for a while and this weekend I finally found a willing participant for the shot! So happy with how this one has turned out and happy to finally get a long term photographic idea out! Many thanks to the willing model too!

Alexander the Great!

So some of you may have read the news that I am an uncle again! That's right my big brother Ben and his wife have delivered their second bundle of joy into the world; Alexander Thomas Wishaw. He weighed something and was a certain size when he was born, all I know he was bigger than his brother Jackson (bragging rights?). Anyway, I digress; now that Alex is two weeks old I went and had a visit with him and family at home and took a few snaps;

Two very proud parents!

Big brother Jackson still trying to work out why its not all about him anymore haha.

Run with Soul

Had a weekend back on the Sunshine Coast this weekend and managed to catch up with a few old friends which was fantastic. One of which was Mel Vandewater, founder of Soul Runner (soulrunner.com.au), who was running a technique workshop for a small class while she was in town. I ventured along to see what it was all about in the mid-afernoon sun (admittedly not perfect photography timing), and saw a class that was taught through shear force of enthusiasm, it was sensational to see such passion brimming over and the effect it had on everyone around! It was truly infectious, and great to catch up!

If you are need of some training tips and technique work have a look at her website soulrunner.com.au

Jackson's Christening

This weekend my almost 5 month old nephew, Jackson, got christened by the same priest as who married my brother (Ben) and his now wife (Melissa) some 18months ago.  The event was quite good and the love for the youngest member of my family was flowing! Melissa's Mum had this awesome cake made too;

Mum spending some time with the little guy, I love the contrast between their two types of eyes, Jackson has these infinitely deep black eyes and Mum has the only coloured eyes in the family;
